Remember me

Unlike Tim Malone, I don’t need to tick the Remember Me checkbox (I’m too lazy too. I know it sounds crazy).

Still, it’s been a while since I have actually posted some form of a reasonable blog post as I have been busy doing various things.

For those that don’t know, I am doing volunteer work at 1WAY FM, ensuring that programs go out as they should, editing programs and doing web and graphic design work for them. This does take a bit of my time up.

I also recently relaunched kjwdesign’s website (although I need to change a bit of code so that I don’t have an issue with the blog showing on the front page). The new design is fresher, gives me a bit more control on what I can put up on the site and includes a blog where I can easily add news and updates on the business. I also had to fix the contact form as the web-host somehow broke the PHP configuration for the SMTP server address.

Other than that, I am job hunting at the moment, looking at ways and options to start a production business, still working in retail, and still slowly working on actually getting my showcase on the web.

I also graduated from CIT a couple of weeks ago.

The joys of design

As a web/graphic designer, I try and look at doing various ways of designing websites and various graphic designs. The following is a post on what I do and enjoy.

At this stage, a redesign of my business’s website as well as this blogs design is in progress, as well as looking at getting a design for the upcoming showcase site (which will have items of design/media work). I also work on the website for a upcoming movie called Hobby Farm.

Other than the projects that I mentioned above, I also occasionally create designs as experiments or possible proposals for various projects that I could take on board. I also look at possible ways to skin various content management systems (eg. Joomla) as well as evaluating them, and I also evaluate various designs that could evolve into parts of future projects.

As I am quite interested in media, I also look at integrating graphics into Apple’s Motion as well as experimenting with creating some motion graphics using various functions in Motion including particles. In the end, I do enjoy doing various design projects and look forward to continuing creating websites and graphic designs, as well as various media productions in the future.

dead – the blog that is.

I haven’t had time to post, the past couple of weeks.

In summary:
-Got a credit in an essay (I haven’t got that high a grade on an essay, and I last did an essay in 2002)
-Been quite busy with other school work
-Completed a website for my business
-Might start working part-time at where I work

Other than that, not much has been happening. I can’t wait till the holidays start in December.

Would you like to pre-order a Wii?

At work, we have started pre-orders for the Nintendo Wii (launch date is late 2006, why hasn’t Nintendo announced a release date?). The funny thing is that we have to “Verify with the customer if they want to pre-order a Wii”.

Wii of course is pronunced Wee. Basically, the pre-order slips have created another of the on-going puns for the Wii.
